Irving, Texas — Verizon’s FiOS TV service is now available in eight additional North Texas cities. These Dallas-Fort Worth area cities include Allen, Corinth, Denton, Double Oak, Hebron, Lucas, Parker and St. Paul.

Verizon first rolled out FiOS TV, an all-fiber communications network, Sept. 22, 2005 in Keller, Texas. The company reports that the service is now available in parts of six other states in addition to Texas: California, Florida, Massachusetts, Maryland, New York and Virginia. Verizon also reports that penetration levels already average 10 percent in markets where FiOS TV has been available for at least six months.

“As we approach the one-year anniversary of offering FiOS TV, we’re hearing from customers that our all-fiber network and customer service exceed their expectations on value and quality,” said Steve Banta, Verizon’s Southwest region president. Banta also explained that the continuous rollout in North Texas —an area where the company expects to connect 400,000 households by the end of the year — is the result of “progressive state legislation enacted one year ago.”
