The new model, which will carry a $2,499 suggested retail price when it ships this month, features an enhanced contrast ratio of 5,000:1, ultra-high brightness of 1,000 cd/m2, and a 60,000 hour lamp life the company claims will last “longer than 32 years” with normal use.

V Inc. said the VIZIO P42 and P46 ED plasmas televisions will retain their position in the plasma line at $1,899 and $3,299 respectively.

The VIZIO L13, L20 and L30 LCD TVs will remain in the line.

Meanwhile, V Inc. said it is offering customizable accent view frames (AVF) for LCD and plasma TVs, offering consumers the ability to customize their television for any room in their house. The frames will be available for select LCD and plasma TVs. In addition, each display in the VIZIO HDX series will come with a standard matte black bezel and options that allow for multiple bezel colors to be interchanged by the consumer.
