Seiki, Bongiovi Integrate Better TV Sound

Berlin — Seiki said Thursday that it has partnered with sonic fidelity developer Bongiovi Acoustics, to integrate Bongiovi’s Digital Power Station (DPS) technology into Seiki HD and Ultra HD TVs.

Seiki said its product development team is currently working with Bongiovi Acoustics audio engineers, programmers, software specialists and application specialists to introduce DPS technology by the first quarter of 2015.

The Chinese TV maker will show prototype Seiki TV models integrated with Bongiovi DPS at its booth at IFA 2014 in Berlin starting today.

“Led by music industry legend Tony Bongiovi, Bongiovi Acoustics stands as one of the chief innovators in the music and motion picture recording industries for introducing technology that improves audio quality,” stated Chris Ng, Seiki deputy general manager. “That same technology will now be available for Seiki customers to enjoy in our television products. When implemented, Bongiovi DPS technology will introduce a new level of audio quality rarely experienced at the price level of Seiki HD and 4K Ultra HD TVs.”

Bongiovi Acoustics DPS technology is said digitally restore sound and music in real time, adding missing harmonics, improving clarity, presence, and bass resonance.

Other benefits include: automatic volume control to eliminate spikes in volume during commercials; impove audio efficiency in “acoustically hostile” high noise environments; apply greater control and a broader range of EQ capability; reproduce any signal source within a 30-15K+ cycle range; adjust signal sources to maximize speaker performance; improve audio intelligibility at very low volume levels.
