Sceptre Rolls Out 48”, 55” LCD TVs

City of Industry, Calif. – Sceptre introduced Tuesday a pair of Full HD LED LCD TVs offering SRS TruSurround HD sound technology and MHL HDMI input support.

The Sceptre-branded models are part of the company’s 5BV-FMQR series and include the 48-inch ($449.99 expected street retail price) and 55-inch ($529.99 expected street retail) screen sizes, both stressing a combination of value benefits including long-term energy savings and affordability.

Sceptre’s HDTVs come equipped with an MHL-enabled HDMI port (one of three HDMI ports on each set), allowing customers to display content from smartphones and tablets on the TV screen or to use the device to stream content from the Internet. The sets are also ready to accept an optional Roku streaming stick for smart TV functionality.

Both sets offer LCD panels with Full HD 1080p resolution and 60Hz refresh rates.

Both sets also incorporate SRS TruSurround HD, for immersive surround sound from the TVs’ built-in speaker systems.

Sceptre said the sets are Energy Star V6.1 compliant and that their LED backlight life is rated at over 50,000 hours or over 17 years of usage at 8 hours a day. The company said the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC’s) Energy Guide pegs the 55-inch model’s estimated yearly energy cost at $18.30, and $15.70 for the 48-inch model.

Both the 55-inch LED HDTV and the 48-inch LED HDTV are currently available at Amazon, Best Buy, Costco, Sam’s Club, Target, Sears’ Marketplace and Walmart.
