Samsung Frame TV Given Its Close-Up At Video & Audio Center

Billed as "first piece of wall art that doubles as a 4K HDR TV" 7/07/2017 09:30:00 AM Eastern

Samsung formally showcased its Frame 4K HDR TV at Southern California A/V specialist Video & Audio Center (VAC), teaming with 20th Century Fox Entertainment to showcase select 4K HDR scenes from Fox's latest releases during a special four-day sales introduction that kicks off today.

When not being used to watch TV, The Frame doubles as work of art on the wall that can display photos or a vast array of paintings to suit any style or taste, Samsung said.

“We are thrilled that Samsung has partnered with Video & Audio Center to introduce and make available to consumers the latest cutting-edge technologies featuring The Frame TV for a true movie-going and gallery-like art experience,” said Tom Campbell, VAC's chief technologist.

Added Joseph Akhtarzad, VAC co-founder: “Content is driving our business like never before and showcasing the top entertainment from studios such as 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment has been a major factor in doubling our business year to date. To the studios we say, thank you for making this possible.”

“The Frame seamlessly blurs the lines between art and technology," said Brandt Varner, VP of TV product marketing for Samsung. "As a TV it provides stunning 4K HDR picture quality and when not in use, transforms into a display of your favorite art and photos. We are happy to work with Video and Audio Center to bring The Frame to Southern California.”

On hand for the opening press event was Mike Dunn, product strategy and consumer business development president, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment. Dunn commented: "Video & Audio Center is best in class at presenting new, cutting-edge technology to the consumer. They provide the perfect platform to introduce new products that deliver never-before-seen consumer experiences and benefits. They bring excitement to technology and content."

Added Dunn: "Samsung continues to reinvent the television. They did it again with the Samsung Frame. The Frame provides unique industrial design — it's a beautiful device — and showcases our content at the highest quality possible."

The Frame is available in 65 inches (model 65LS003) and 55 inches (model 55LS003) and features Samsung's 4K Color Drive Extreme technology, said to display 1 billion more colors than standard 4K.
