DENVER — Juggling its new Runco and Vidikron brands with its existing TV display lines, Planar (booth 510) is showing at CEDIA 2007 three 1080p full-HD LCD flat-panel displays targeted for the high-end specialty home theater channel.
Models include the 37-inch PD370, 42-inch PD420 and 47-inch PD470, each of which is designed to fit the company’s plan “to deliver specialty, non-commodity products to the global high-end home theater market,” the company said.
All three models offer full 1920 by 1080p resolution and new styling designs.
“Planar’s addition of the PD370, PD420 and PD470 LCD full-HD 1080p flat-panel displays to our home theater line gives us another opportunity to provide customers with comprehensive home theater display solutions,” stated Scott Hix, Planar home theater initiative VP/GM. “We have leveraged Planar’s history and relationships to create a comprehensive line of display products for the home theater market, from the ambient-light rejection Xscreen to a complete line of home theater projectors and now multiple sizes of the full-HD 1080p flat-panel LCD’s.”
All three models incorporate advanced video processing using a Faroudja DCDi chip, HDMI with HDCP input, picture-in-picture and picture-out-of-picture support, and integrated SRS speakers.
