LG Electronics is boosting the capabilities of it smart TVs to make online content purchases.

LG’s global Paymentwall alliance, bringing more than 140 payment options to more than 200 countries, will give consumers easier access to paid apps, movies, games and more through the webOS Smart TV platform.

By clicking the Buy Now button and entering a credit or debit card number, owners of LG Smart TVs with webOS will be able to conduct two-step online purchases all over the world without having to sign in separately. The webOS 3.0 platform is compatible with 4K Ultra HD and high-dynamic range (HDR) programming.

Brian Kwon, president and CEO of the LG Home Entertainment Company, said, “By collaborating with Paymentwall, we’re able to evolve the smart TV purchasing experience on the LG webOS platform much faster than if we had worked alone.”
