Hisense To Settle NASCAR Dispute With Video Game Tournament at Charlotte Motor Speedway

Hisense is furthering its sports sponsorship efforts with a gaming showdown by two NASCAR drivers at the Hisense 4K TV 300 at the Charlotte motor Speedway in May.

Hisense will settle a divisive Twitter battle between NASCAR XFINITY Series driver Erik Jones of Joe Gibbs Racing and Clint Bowyer of Stewart-Haas Racing, who are both claiming to be the best gamer in all of NASCAR with the Hisense Dual Threat Challenge.

On May 26th, Jones, Bowyer, Hisense, members of the e-sports team Evil Geniuses and two lucky NASCAR fans will join forces to host a Halo tournament on the 16,000 square-foot Speedway TV at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Jones and Bowyer will act as team captains and fill their teams out with two Evil Geniuses team members and one fan qualifier.

“At Hisense, we embrace head-to-head competition in all its forms and believe that the television is the hearth of the modern home: bringing people together to watch great content or, in this case, decide who’s the biggest dual threat,” said Mark Viken, Hisense marketing VP. “We’re also very excited to give two lucky fans the chance to compete with some of the biggest stars of NASCAR and professional gaming for ultimate bragging rights.”

Fans will be asked to Tweet a video to the hashtag #HisenseDualThreat, detailing what makes them a dual threat and why they should be considered for Jones or Bowyer’s team. After two weeks of fielding submissions, Hisense will select eight finalists and the two winners will be chosen through a popular vote on Twitter.

The winners will receive full airfare and accommodations to Charlotte as well as grandstand tickets to both the Hisense 4K TV 300 on Saturday, May 27, and the Coca-Cola 600 on Sunday, May 28.
