Cord Cutting On The Cheap: RCA Roku TVs Now Available

Display-Vu has begun shipping a line of affordably priced RCA-branded Roku TVs.

Three models are offered: 50 inches ($499 suggested retail), 43 inches ($379) and 32 inches ($249). The larger two models have 1,920 by 1,080 resolution while the smaller has 1,366 by 768.

A company spokeswoman told TWICE that a 4K Ultra HD version is in the works and will be available in time for the holiday season.

The LED-backlit TVs feature the Roku smart-TV platform, a TV tuner input to receive over-the-air TV channels, and the ability to pause live broadcasts. Consumers can control the TV using the included remote or with their smartphones. Using the iOS or Android app adds the ability to voice search, as well as share videos, music and photos to the TV.

They have 60Hz refresh rates and come with three HDMI inputs.

The new line is currently available through Amazon, Walmart.com, BJ’s, BrandsMart, ABC Appliances, Bi Mart, Cowboy Maloney’s, Evine and Shopko. They are manufactured by Display-Vu’s parent, Curtis International.

In a statement, Claire Villeneuve, head of trademark licensing for Technicolor, which owns the RCA brand, said the company was excited to make its mark once again on the TV landscape.
