Los Angeles - Transcend introduced a line of CF cards that meet the CompactFlash Association's CFast specification.

CFast
Transcend's CFast cards measure 42.8mm by 36.4mm by 3.3mm -- the same physical dimensions as traditional CF cards -- but are designed to act as solid-state drives.

The cards "integrate the rapid, more robust SATA interface into the existing CF card form factor, offering improved performance and convenience for a variety of industrial applications," the company said.

Transfer rates reach up to 108MBps, Transcend said, and are meant for industrial-PC users and those with SATA 3Gbps-compatible devices.

The cards are offered in 2GB, 4GB, 8GB and 16GB capacities. Pricing wasn't given.
