Arlington Va. — The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) announced that Dan Cole, business development VP for the International CES and CEA, was recognized by Expo magazine as an Expo Elite member.

Owned and produced by CEA, the International CES is held annually every January in Las Vegas.

The Expo Elite 2013 list is the third-annual ranking of leaders in the tradeshow industry. The list recognizes individuals who have taken a fresh approach to doing business and lead their shows to success. The list is intended to celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit and dedicated drive that allows the tradeshow industry to flourish, CEA said.

“Dan Cole is a vital part of CEA and plays an essential role in the success of the International CES,” said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO, CEA, in a statement. “Dan developed the SURE (Sense of Urgency, Responsiveness, and Empathy) approach to customer service for CES exhibitors and continues to find ways to keep the International CES innovative and dynamic. I congratulate Dan for being honored as an Expo Elite and for his entrepreneurial zeal in ensuring exhibitor ROI and success at the International CES.”

Karen Chupka, senior VP, International CES and corporate business strategy for CEA, said, “Dan’s passion for providing great customer service is one of the reasons that the International CES continues to grow and evolve. Congratulations to Dan for receiving this award and for being recognized for his outstanding service to CEA members and CES exhibitors.”

For the past 15 years, Cole has served as business development VP for the International CES and CEA. He has held other sales related leadership positions over his 25-year professional career. He began his tenure in the tradeshow industry in 1992 as a national accounts manager for National Trade Productions.
