2014 EISA Award Winners Named

Lisbon, Portugal — The European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA), an association of A/V publications from 20 European countries, announced its slate of 2014 EISA Award winners.

The EISA winners are said to represent the best consumer audio and video products in six different categories: Audio, Video, Home Theater, Photography, In-car Electronics and Mobile Devices.

In the Hi-Fi (audio) category: Asus took top honors for its audiophile-targeted Essence III external USB DAC/preamplifier; Avantgarde Acoustic’s Zero 1  won for European high-end audio solution; Bowers & Wilkins’ 683 S2 Theatre won best Eurpoean loudspeakers; iFi’s nano iDSD USB DAC was honored for top European Hi-Fi accessory; KEF’s Reference 5 loudspeaker series was honored for European high-end audio; Marantz’ SA8005/PM8005 compact stereo system and SACD player took top European stereo system; Oppo’s PM-1 won best European Hi-Fi headphones; Pro-Ject’s Xtension 9 Evolution SuperPack won top “European analogue source;” and Samsung’s M7 won top European multroom system.

In the category of display and video, Canon’s Legria mini X was cited for European lifestyle camcorder; Epson’s EH-TW9200W was cited for European home theater projector; LG’s 55LB870V was cited for European Smart TV and its LG 77EC980V 77-inch 4K OLED TV was cited for European high-end TV; Panasonic’s DMP-BDT700 was cited as top European Blu-ray player and its Lumix DMC-GH4 was awarded top European photo and video camera; Samsung’s UE55H7000 55-inch LED LCD TV won top European FullHD TV, Sony’s FDR-AX100 earned top European camcorder and its 65-inch LED LCD KD-65X9005B earned to European 4K Ultra HD TV.

In the photography category, Canon’s EOS 1200D won top European consumer DSLR. As mentioned in video, the Legria mini X won top European lifestyle camcorder; Fujifilm’s X-T1 won top advanced compact system camera and its Fujinon XF56mm/f1.2R won best European compact system lens; Manfrotto’s MT055CXPro4 won top European photo accessory; Nikon’s D4s won top European professional DSLR; Olympus’ M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-40mm f/2.8 won top European compact system zoom lens and its OM-D E-M10 won top European consumer compact system camera; Panasonic’s Lumix DMC-FZ1000 won top European advanced compact camera, its aforementioned Lumix DMC-GH4 won for European photo and video camera and the Lumix DMC-TZ60 took top European travel compact camera; Ricoh Imaging’s Pentax K-3 earned top European advanced DSLR; Samsung’s Galaxy K Zoom took top European smartphone camera and its NX30 won top European connected camera; Sigma’s 50mm/f1.4 DG HSM won European professional compact system camera; Sony’s Alpha 7R won top European professional compact system camera and the Cyber-Shot RX100 III won top European compact camera; Tamron won top European DSLR zoom lens for the 16-300mm Di II VC PZD MACRO (model B016) and its SP 150-600mm Di VC USD (model A011) won for European DSLR telephoto zoom lens.

In the in-car electronics category: Alpine’s X800D-ML was cited for premium upgrade; Audison’s AP8.9 bit was cited for in-car integration and its bit Play HD was cited for In-Car HD media player; Ground Zero’s GZPC 163SQ-LTD was listed for in-car high-end component; Morel’s Ultimo 10 Titanium earned in-car subwoofer honors; Mosconi’s Gladen D2 100.4 DSP was cited for in-car amplifier; Pioneer’s AVIC-F60DAB was cited for in-car navi-media system and Rainbow’s GL-C6.2 earned top in-car speaker system.

In the home theatre audio awards, Bowers & Wilkins 683 S2 Theatre took European loudspeaker system; Dali’s Rubicon LCR was cited for on-wall loudspeaker system; Focal’s Dimension was cited for home theatre soundbar; LG’s LAB540 was cited for home theatre soundbase; Panasonic’s DMP-BDT700 was cited for best Blu-ray player; Philips’ Fidelio E5 earned top home theatre solution; Pioneer’s VSX-924 earned top home theatre receiver; and Yamaha’s CX-A5000/MX-A5000 won top European high-end home theatre.

In mobile device awards, AKG’s K845BT won top European headphone; Harman Kardon’s Esquire Mini won top mobile audio system; Huawei’s Ascend P7 won top consumer smartphone; LG’s G3 won advanced smartphone; Samsung’s Galaxy K Zoom won top smartphone camera and Sony’s Xperia Z2 tablet won top tablet.
