New York - Toshiba America has introduced a new mobile app so revelers from around the world can view the Times Square New Year's countdown.

Toshiba's official Times Square Ball App for Apple and Android phones will allow users to take in the celebration via their portable device. In addition, the app will allow photo uploads with the image possibly appearing on the Toshiba Vision screen that is located in New York's Times Square.

Toshiba is the official sponsor of the Countdown of the Times Square 2011 New Year's Eve Celebration. The Toshiba Vision screen atop 1 Times Square, which is home to the famous ball drop, will feature special entertainment including live and pre-recorded musical performances and pyrotechnic effects.
