Verizon Adds 8.3-Inch LG Tablet

Basking Ridge, N.J. – Verizon Wireless added the LG G Pad X8.3 tablet to its selection to complement a 7-inch LG tablet and 10.1-inch LG tablet, pricing the 8.3-inch model at $129 with contract and $299 without contract.

The non-contract Edge installment-payment price is $12.49/month for 24 months.

The G Pad X8.3 replaces the original G Pad 8.3, launched in March 2014, and maintains Verizon’s LG tablet selection at three, but the X8.3 is the only LG tablet with stylus. The carrier also offers LTE-equipped tablets from Apple, Samsung, Nokia, Sony, and Verizon for a total of 20 SKUs.

Separately, Verizon priced LG’s flagship G4 at $199 with two-year contract. Without contract, it goes for $549, or $22.91/month for 24 months under the Edge installment-payment program. Customers can preorder the phone for shipping before it appears in stores on June 4.

All four national carriers have announced pricing and availability dates for the G4, unveiled earlier this year.

The new tablet features built-in stylus, Android 5.0 Lollipop OS, 1.5GHz octa-core processor, 16GB internal storage, 128GB microSD card slot, 8.3-inch Full HD IPS display, dual stereo speakers, 8- and 2-megapixel cameras, full-size USB port, and 4800 mAh battery.

Its dual-window feature lets dual-window-compatible apps appear simultaneously on a split screen. QuickMemo+ lets users write or draw on almost any screen, and gesture shot lets users take selfies by making a hand gesture.

For a limited time, the carrier is offering select promotions on both devices. Users who buy a G4 get the LG G Pad X8.3 for $49.99 with two-year activation, G Pad 10.1 for $99.99 instead of $149.99 with two-year activation, or an LG Watch Urbane smartwatch for $299.99 with two-year activation.

In addition, for a limited time, LG is offering G4 purchasers a free 32GB microSD card, extra battery and battery charging cradle.

AT&T recently expanded its selection of LTE tablets from LG to two with the launch of the LTE-equipped LG G Pad F 8.0 with stylus, and earlier this year, Sprint added its first LG tablet.
