Hisense Expands Tablet Selection

Suwanee, Ga. — Hisense rolled out its next-generation tablet, an 8-inch Android 4.4 model retailing for $129 in Walmart stores.

The Sero 8 is Hisense’s first Android 4.4 tablet, which joins the 7-inch Android-based Sero 7 Pro and its entry-level counterpart, the Sero 7 LT.

Those 7-series models were Hisense’s first tablets in the U.S. market and were rolled out last year exclusively to Walmart, which still offers them. So far, only Walmart is offering the Sero 8, a spokesperson said.

All of Hisense’s tablets access the Google Play store.

The Sero 8 features 1.6GHz quad-core processor, 1,280 by 800 HD IPS display, 1GB RAM, 16GB internal memory, 32GB MicroSD card slot, front and rear cameras, 802.11n Wi-Fi, MiniHDMI and USB ports, and Bluetooth 3.0.

The tablet comes preinstalled with YouTube, Chrome, Vudu HD Movies, Walmart.com, Sams.com, Nook eReader, Pandora, Facebook, Twitter and other apps. Another preinstalled app turns the Sero 8 into a remote control.
