AT&T Bundling Amazon Tablet, Fire Phone

Dallas – AT&T is bringing an LTE-equipped Amazon Fire HDX 7 tablet to its company-owned stores and online store. The carrier is pricing the 32GB tablet for a limited time at only $49 with two-year contract if customers also buy a Kindle Fire phone with or without subsidy.

Alternately, consumers can buy the Kindle Fire HDX without a companion Fire phone at $99 with two-year contract or unsubsidized without contract at $10/month with zero down on the Next payment plan.

The tablet goes on sale Oct. 24 in AT&T’s direct channels, and the bundled pricing expires Nov. 20.

The Kindle Fire phones, introduced earlier this year by AT&T on an exclusive basis, are priced at 99 cents for the 32GB model with two-year contract or $449 without contract. The 64GB version is priced at $99 with two-year contract and $549 without.

AT&T has offered cellular-equipped Kindle tablets in the past.

The Wi-Fi version of the Kindle Fire HDX tablet became available last October through Amazon and retailers.

AT&T isn’t yet offering LTE versions of Amazon’s latest tablets, which became available this month. They are the Wi-Fi-equipped Fire HD, available with 6- and 7-inch screens at $100 and $140, and the Fire HDX 8.9 at $379. The 4G LTE version is $479.
