Alcatel & Nickelodeon Team On TV Ad Promoting Xess Kitchen Tablet

Picked out your Mother’s Day gift yet?

Alcatel is targeting families with a TV ad appearing on Nickelodeon channels as part of the first major campaign promoting Alcatel’s tablet-based TCL Xesskitchen accessory.

The 17.3-inch tablet launched in April and comes preloaded with Nickelodeon’s Nick and Noggin apps.

The co-branded marketing campaign behind the $499 device includes a custom on-air spot created by Nickelodeon for the Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. The ad highlights Nickelodeon’s “Paw Patrol” show and drives viewers to Alcatel’s website for purchase.

The campaign will also leverage Nickelodeon’s “MomSquad” of social influencers, who will create custom videos running across their social platforms. Nickelodeon also plans a social-media campaign running across its owned and operated platforms.

“Paw Patrol” branding will also appear on People.com’s People Shop online store and Alcatel’s e-commerce site

Alcatel has promoted its products on TV before, including an ad last year for the Idol 3 smartphone. “This is our first media partnership of this kind, however,” an Alcatel spokesperson said.

The TCL Xess Android-based kitchen accessory features a multi-position kickstand, slide-out carry handle and gesture control, which makes it easier to use on a kitchen countertop without getting the screen messy. It also comes with preloaded recipe applications and how-to cooking videos. It is bundled with an IP camera that streams live video to the Xess from a nursery or other room.
