Cerritos, Calif. - Steelmate USA introduced a parking-assist system that combines with its VIEW wireless video sending system.

The system (model PTSV401) features four rear-mounted sensors and a micro camera, and it operates with the Video In Existing Writing (VIEW) system (model IPWRXTX1) for a complete parking-assist solution. It provides onscreen and audible alerts, displaying the distance between the vehicle and the object on a screen. The sensor's range is listed as 1 to 8.4 feet.

According to Steelmate, the system will operate with any in-dash video unit or monitor with a composite-video input.

The PTSV401 has a $499 suggested retail, while the IPWRXTX1 has a $699 suggested retail. The cost of installation is not included.
