Overland Park, Kan. - Sprint is adding to the fourth-quarter low-price Android frenzy with the $19.99 Express, a candybar style Android 2.3 phone with 2.6-inch capacitive touch display and full QWERTY keyboard.

 Other key features of the Huawei-made phones include 600MHz processor, 3.2-megapixel camera with flash and camcorder, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/, 3G mobile hot spot capability for connecting up to five devices to the Internet, and large 1,500mAh Li-Ion battery. It's available only through Sprint's direct channels.

Earlier this year, Sprint launched the $79 Samsung Transform Ultra with 1GHz processor and Android 2.3 OS, Samsung Replenish at $49, and Kyocera Milano at $49.99.

In recent days, AT&T began offering the Samsung DoubleTime and Pantech Pocket Android phones at $50 following a mid-year launch of the $49 Android-based HTC Status and a mid-September launch of the $29 Huawei-made Impulse 4G, on Thursday.

Also earlier this year, T-Mobile launched the Samsung Gravity Smart with slide-out QWERTY keyboard at $69.99 in red and blue and at $29.99 for a gray-color version available only on T-Mobile's website. The carrier also announced a low-priced 4G Android smartphone, the $79.99 Samsung Exhibit 4G.

Late last year, T-Mobile unveiled its first four Android phones to launch at prices of less than $100. They included the Huawei-made T-Mobile Comet at $9.99, LG Optimus T with Google at $29.99, and Motorola Charm at $49.99.
