They All Float: LG Bringing PJ9 Levitating Speaker To CES 2017

LG Electronics announced it will introduce a levitating portable speaker at CES 2017 next week.

The PJ9 wireless speaker can hover over its included Levitation Station, which employs electromagnets to let the device float. The station also acts as a charger: When the PJ9’s 10-hour battery runs low, it automatically descends to the Levitation Station and charges wirelessly.

The PJ9 features 360-degree omnidirectional sound, while the station has a built-in subwoofer. It is IPX7 rated for outdoor weather conditions. Multipoint tech permits two speakers to be paired simultaneously.

Said Tim Alessi, head of product marketing at LG Electronics USA: “This latest addition to our growing lineup of premium wireless audio devices will not only turn heads, but it makes the bold statement that LG is committed to exploring new concepts and pioneering innovative audio designs for consumers around the world.”
