SVS also expanded its selection of cylinder-shaped home subwoofers to four.

The new Prime speaker series, joining the higher priced Ultra series, is designed to “achieve flagship performance at mainstream prices,” the company said. The series consists of a tower, bookshelf, center and satellite speaker, making it the company’s second full-range speaker family. They’re available in available in black ash or piano gloss.

The Prime Tower retails for $499 each compared to the $999-each Ultra Tower. The Prime Bookshelf is $249 each compared to the Ultra version’s $499. The three-way Center comes in at $349 compared to $699, and the brand’s first satellite speaker comes in at $134 each.

The speakers feature technology from the Prime series to “deliver an incredibly high level of audio performance at their disciplined price,” said SVS president Gary Yacoubian.

The Prime Tower speaker features new 3.5-way crossover, tweeter, midrange, and two individually tuned and isolated 6.5-inch woofers. The Prime Bookshelf speaker features 6.25-inch woofer and 1-inch aluminum-dome tweeter.

The company called it “rare, if not impossible” to find a three-way center-channel speaker at the Prime price point of $349. The Prime Center features three-way, four-driver design with 1-inch aluminum-dome tweeter, 3.5-inch midrange driver and dual 5.25-inch woofers.

The Prime Satellite can be used on its own or with SVS subwoofer to create 2.1, 5.1 and 7.1 systems. A wall bracket is included.

The new cylinder subwoofer is the PC-2000 subwoofer, which is the shortest of the cylinder quartet and slightly smaller in diameter. It is 16.5 inches in diameter, 34-inches-tall, and priced at $799 with black-ash top cover and $849 for the piano-gloss black top. It joins the $499 PC12-NSD, $1,199 PC12-Plus, and $1,699 PC13-Ultra.

The new features 12-inch down-firing driver and DSP amplifier said to be conservatively rated at 500 watts RMS continuous and 1100 watts peak. The sub reproduces 17-270Hz frequencies +/- 3dB, and it features line-level RCA input, 80Hz filter, continuously variable volume and phase controls, and rear-firing 4-inch port.

It’s the first SVS sub to come standard with the company’s SoundPath Isolation System consisting of elastomer feet to decouple and isolate the PC-2000 from the floor to produce tighter and cleaner bass, the company said.
