Samsung Throws A Soundbar Curve

Ridgefield Park, N.J. — Samsung took the wraps off the industry’s first curved soundbar in addition to the company’s selection of Shape wireless multiroom audio products.

The soundbar is the $799 HW-H7500 Curved Soundbar, designed for use with Samsung’s 55-inch and 65-inch curved Ultra HD TVs.

The Shape product is the $199 M3 amplified tabletop speaker.

The soundbar features brushed-aluminum chassis, 8.1 channels, including proprietary technology and two drivers on both sides to “optimize surround sound from three directions.” It includes a wireless subwoofer. It connects to Samsung TVs via Samsung’s Bluetooth-based TV SoundConnect, enabling quick and easy pairing between products.

Users can control a built-in equalizer and additional features through Samsung TV remote controls.

The bar can also be wall-mounted because it can be attached onto a stand under a curved Ultra HD Samsung TV.

The new Shape speaker is the M3, which joins the larger M5 and M7 speakers and four other audio products equipped with Shape multiroom-audio technology. They are the HW-H750 soundbar, the HT- H6500WM and HT-H7730WM HTiBs, and the BD-H6500 Blu-ray player.

Shape systems can be controlled from smartphones and tablets, with users selecting songs stored on networked computers and their mobile device. The Shape products also stream music from Amazon Cloud Player, Pandora, Spotify, Rhapsody, TuneIn Radio and other Cloud sources.
