Polk To Open Airport Kiosk

Baltimore, Md. — Polk Audio plans to open its first retail kiosk in late September.

The first kiosk will be a Polk-branded 295-square-foot kiosk in Baltimore Washington International (BWI) Airport.

The kiosk will feature the company’s personal audio products, including headphones and the I-Sonic ES3 tabletop audio system. The kiosks will also demo Polk’s SurroundBars.

The kiosk will be staffed by full-time and part-time Polk employees from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week, including holidays.

The BWI kiosk will be part of the planned AIRMALL City Walk shopping strip located in the airport’s A/B concourse. More than 15 million Southwest Airlines and AirTran passengers pass through the concourse each year, Polk said.

“Our new Polk kiosk at BWI is our way of supporting the local economy while increasing our brand awareness and experimenting with new and different merchandising programs in a controlled environment,” said Ben Newhall, SVP of sales and marketing.

AIRMALL at the airport features 120,000 square feet of concessions space and comprises 40 restaurants and bars, 20 specialty retail units, and 15 news and gift stores.
