Atlanta - Sony Ericsson expanded its selection of downloadable games optimized for its PlayStation phone, formally called the Xperia Play, to more than 80 from more than 60.

The world's first PlayStation-certified phone, which is Android-based, is available in the U.S. only though Verizon Wireless at $199.

 The new titles include massively multi-player online (MMO) titles. Many of the new games will be demonstrated at the June 7-9 E3 show in Los Angeles.

Some of the new games are Minecraft, Battlefield Bad Company 2, Tom Clancy's Rainbow 6 Shadow Vanguard, Desert Winds, Ruined, Icebreaker, Sleepy Jack, Cracking Sands, and Armageddon Squadron 2.

 SonyEricsson also announced that more games from Sony Computer Entertainment's stable of classic PlayStation 1 titles will come be available "shortly" for the  Xperia Play.
