San Diego, Calif. – Sony joined the growing throng of camera makers to integrate high definition video recording into a digital still camera.

The new 10-megapixel DSC-T500 records 1280 by 720p video in the H.264 format at 30fps. It can snap up to three digital stills during movie recording.

It also features a 3.5-inch touch-screen LCD, face detection and a 5x optical zoom lens with optical stabilization.

The T500 will offer nine scene modes and will retail for $400. It ships this month.
