San Diego - New Walkman-series MP3/video players shipping in September will include Sony models with embedded Bluetooth stereo to stream music to Bluetooth-equipped home and car stereo systems and to Bluetooth headphones.
Stereo Bluetooth appears in the A and S series. A third new series is the E series. All models have color LCD screens.

Stereo Bluetooth put in its first appearance in the Walkman line in 2008.

The NWZ-A860 A-series model, which adds touchscreen, is available in 8GB and 16GB capacities at suggested retails of $179 and $219, respectively. The NWZ-S760BT S series is available only in an 8GB version at $149 but in two colors: black or white. The E series NWZ-E460 features FM tuner and comes in five colors and three capacities: 4GB at $79, 8GB at $89, and 16GB at $109.

All three series feature a new design, built-in voice recording with integrated microphone, and new Media Go PC software to transfer music, videos, playlists and photos to the Walkman players. Users can also drag and drop unprotected music to the devices from iTunes for Windows, Windows Media Player or Windows Explorer.

All also feature proprietary suite of Clear Audio Technologies to improve sound quality, a karaoke mode, bookmarking with multiple playlists, and SensMe, which was available on previous models. SensMe categorizes stored tracks by mood, enabling users to select music for playback by mood. The models also sport a synchronized lyric feature that lets users load LRC files for songs and set the lyrics to scroll in sync with the music.

The A series comes with premium ear buds, stereo Bluetooth, 2.8-inch WQVGA (400 by 240) TFT touchscreen, and Bluetooth photo-transfer feature.

The S series comes with included Bluetooth stereo headphones, 2-inch QVGA (320 by 240) LCD screen, Bluetooth photo sharing, and a battery offering 50 hours of music playback or 19 hours of video playback.

The E series features 2-inch QVGA (320 by 240) color LCD screen, FM tuner, a battery delivering up to 50 hours of music playback or 10 hours of video, and five color options: black, red, blue, green and pink.
