Verizon Mobile Hot Spot Connects More Devices For Longer

Basking Ridge, N.J. – Novatel extended the capabilities of 4G mobile hotspots with the launch of a Verizon-network model that connects to up to 15 Wi-Fi devices at a time to the Internet.

Other hot spots also connect up to a maximum 10 Wi-Fi devices at a time.

The Verizon Jetpack 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot MiFi 6620L is also the first mobile hot spot with an embedded power pack to charge a smartphone on the go, Verizon said. It runs for up to 20 hours on a single charge, whereas other models usually last no more than 16 hours on a charge.

The Jetpack became available today through Verizon’s website at $49 after a $50 mail-in rebate debit card with new two-year activation. The device will be available in Verizon stores Oct. 2. Users will be able to add the hotspot to their existing More Everything accounts for a $20 monthly access fee.

The device features Verizon’s XLTE service, which accelerates LTE data rates by operating in two bands, AWS and 700MHz. The 4,000mAh battery delivers up to 20 hours of use on a single charge, and a universal USB port is available for charging a smartphone. The device also includes parental controls, which can be used to block select websites from specific devices.

A 2-inch color display with touch keys is included for viewing real-time data usage, signal strength, battery status, the number of connected devices and other things.

The MiFi 6620L is also Global Ready for operation in more than 200 countries.
