Trident, LoopPay Team For Digital Wallet Phone Cases

Las Vegas — Trident Case has entered into a strategic alliance with LoopPay to embed digital wallet technology in a new series of ruggedized smartphone cases.

LoopPay’s Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) technology and LoopPay App allows consumers to store all their credit, debit, affinity and gift cards digitally and use them to pay at any retailer with a magnetic stripe credit card reader or contactless NFC terminal.

Users simply tap a button on their Trident LoopPay case to make a payment, or open the LoopPay app to tap and pay with a card of their choice.

In addition to integrating LoopPay’s MST technology, the Trident LoopPay case also includes a fold out wallet compartment for users to store non-credit cards such as an ID, backup payment card, etc.

“We’re very excited to introduce this line of cases using LoopPay’s advanced contactless payment technology,” said Trident marketing VP Vickie Achee said. “Digital wallets are becoming mainstream, but most smartphones with integrated payment capabilities aren’t functional when users have a protective case. Up until now consumers have had to risk breaking their expensive device just to use its newest features. Our new Trident LoopPay case solves that issue and provides lightweight protection at the same time as secure, convenient in-person digital transactions.”

According to Achee, Trident will begin developing the LoopPay case for the Samsung Note 4 and the case will be available later this year.

Trident’s LoopPay case will feature an inner layer of shock-absorbing silicone with an outer layer of hardened polycarbonate. The cases also include a self-applicable screen protector.

All Trident cases are constructed using bio-enhanced plastic that is degradable, compostable and recyclable.
