T-Mobile, MetroPCS Add Value Phones

Bellevue, Wash. – T-Mobile and its prepaid brand MetroPCS are adding new value-priced smartphones to their selections.

MetroPCS is also rolling out a Mexico Unlimited plan for U.S. subscribers who want to call Mexico all they want or use their phone in Mexico without incurring international roaming charges.

The new T-Mobile trio, available in T-Mobile stores July 22, consists of the HTC Desire 626s, Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime, and Samsung Galaxy Core Prime. The HTC Desire 626s will also make its way to MetroPCS customers on August 3, while the Samsung Galaxy Core Prime became available July 13. All feature LTE.

With T-Mobile plans, the HTC Desire 626s will be available for $169.99, or $0 down with 23 months of $7.09/month payments and a final $6.92 payment on the 24th month. It was announced earlier today by HTC and features Android 5.1 Lollipop OS, enhanced LTE, 5-inch HD display, 1.5GB RAM, 1.1GHz quad-core processor, 2,000mAh battery, 8GB memory, and 8- and 2-megapixel cameras.

The Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime will be available for $189.99, or $0 down with 23 monthly payments of $7.92 and a final $7.83 payment. It features Android 4.4 KitKat, 5-inch WVGA 960 by 540 display, quad-core 1.2GHz processor, 8GB storage, 128GB microSD Card slot, and 8- and 5-megapixel cameras.

The Samsung Galaxy Core Prime will be available at $139.99, or $0 down with 23 monthly $5.84 payments and a final $5.67 payment. It features Android 4.4, 4.5-inch 800 by 480 display, 1GB RAM, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 8GB storage, 128GB microSD Card slot, and 5- and 2-megapixel cameras.

For Metro PCS, the HTC Desire 626s will be available Aug. 3 at $79 with instant rebate. The Galaxy Core Prime is available at $49 with an instant rebate.

The MetroPCS variations can be used with the new Mexico Unlimited plan, which if ordered on or before August 31 will be free until 2016. The normal cost is $5/month per line. Eligible MetroPCS customers must have a $40 or higher base rate plan.

With the Mexico Unlimited plan, users in the U.S. get unlimited calls to mobile and landline phones in Mexico and unlimited texting to Mexico. While in Mexico, U.S. subscribers get unlimited calling to mobiles and landlines “virtually” anywhere in the U.S. and Mexico, unlimited texting to the U.S., and 4G LTE data.
