T-Mobile Expands Low-Price LTE Smartphone Selection

Bellevue, Wash. – T-Mobile is building up its selection of low-price LTE smartphones with today’s availability of the Samsung Galaxy Avant at an unsubsidized $216, or $9/month for 24 months.

The Android 4.4 phone, available at T-Mobile’s stores and web site, joins the recently launched LTE-equipped Nokia Lumia 635 Windows Phone 8.1 smartphone at $168.

Other low-priced LTE phones from T-Mobile include the $99 Samsung Galaxy Light with Android 4.2.2 and the LG Optimus F3Q with Android 4.1.2 at $276, the carrier’s web site shows. Other LTE phones start at $396 for the Google Nexus 5 and go up to $648 for the iPhone 5s.

Other low-price T-Mobile smartphones run on the company’s 3G or 4G HSPA+21Mbps networks but lack LTE. The 3G models are priced down to $79, and 4G models without LTE are priced down to $99.

The Avant features 4.5-inch qHD display, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1.5GB RAM, 16GB memory, 64GB microSD Card slot, 5-megapixel main camera, front camera, NFC, FM radio, and Wi-Fi calling.
