LG Rolls Out More Affordable LTE Phone

Seoul, South Korea — LG unveiled a new LTE smartphone targeted to consumers upgrading to LTE in Europe, Asia and the Americas.

The quad-core 4.5-inch F60 will begin rolling out this week.

The 0.42-inch-thick device, said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president/CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications, delivers “a premium user experience” at what he called “a reasonable price.”

The Android 4.4.2 phone features Qualcomm 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 4GB or 8GB of embedded memory, 4.5-inch IPS WVGA display with 207 ppi, 2,100 mAh battery, 5- and 1.3-megapixel cameras, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi and A-GPS. The device, which will be available in black and white, measures 5 inches by 2.67 inches by 0.42 inch.

The F60 comes with LG’s proprietary UI features appearing in the flagship G3, including gesture shot, which lets users take selfies by simply opening and closing their hand in front of the lens to start a three-second countdown. Touch and shoot lets users capture a shot quickly by tapping anywhere on the display to focus and shoot in one step. Knock Code unlocks the F60 when users knock on the display with a personalized knock pattern.
