Icon Q Smartphone Aimed At Travelers

Garden City, N.Y. — Icon Q has launched its first smartphone, an unlocked octa-core model that’s geared toward travelers.

The Q5.5 features dual SIM card slots, meant to appeal to consumers who want to use the same phone in the U.S. and overseas. The Android 4.4 smartphone will operate on all 3G GSM networks except for Verizon, Sprint and U.S Cellular, Icon Q said. It’s also supported on WCDMA (2,100/1,900/850 bands).

Features include Bluetooth 4.0, 5-megapixel front camera, 13-megapixel rear camera, 2GB RAM, and 16GB of storage that’s expandable up to 32GB via MicroSD card. The 5.5-inch display has a 1,280 by 720 resolution, and its 2,100 mAh battery is said to last 5.5 hours.

The Q5.5 is currently available for $199. It will be sold on Icon Q’s website, Spring.com and several other partners, an Icon Q spokeswoman told TWICE, calling it a “limited first run.”

Icon Q, founded in 2013, also manufactures CE accessories, including headphones, Bluetooth speakers and Qi power banks.
