First Windows Phone Phablet On The Way

Alpharetta, Ga. — AT&T prepaid brand Cricket Wireless is offering its first Windows Phone phablet with the launch of the LTE-equipped Nokia Lumia 1320 with 6-inch IPS display.

It will be available exclusively in Cricket-owned stores and the company’s website on June 13 for $229 after a $50 mail-in-rebate Visa Promotion Card. The rebate promotion ends July 10.

The phone launches with Windows Phone 8 OS but will be updated for free to Windows Phone 8.1, including the Cortana voice assistant, in the “coming months,” the carrier said.

Key features include 1280 by 720 HD display that’s large enough to display three columns of live tiles and sensitive enough to respond to touches by fingernails and gloves. It also features dual-core 1.7GHz CPU, 1GB RAM, 8GM embedded memory, 64GB MicroSD slot, a non-removable 3,400 mAh battery and up to 23 hours of talk time.

A 5-megapixel main camera has 1080p 30 fps video capture, LED flash and 4x zoom. It also features VGA front camera, free Here Drive turn-by-turn navigation and Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n.

The Lumia 1320 is powered by Windows Phone 8 and will be updated for free to Windows Phone 8.1, including Cortana digital personal assistant, in the coming months.

More than 3,000 Cricket Wireless retail stores are in operation.

For its postpaid service, AT&T offers the Lumia  1520 phablet with 6-inch display.
