Vector Readies 30-Day Smart Watch

London – Start-up Vector Watch, founded last year by former Timex Group president Joe Santana, plans to launch a smart watch that delivers 30-day battery life and works with Apple, Android and Windows phones.

The company hasn’t revealed additional details of the watch, which will be unveiled at the Baselworld watch and jewelry show in Basel, Switzerland. The show runs from March 19-26.

“The USA is a priority target audience for the Vector Watch brand through Vector’s e-com site and through etailer channels and brick-and-mortar retailers,” a spokesman told TWICE.

The company wants to fill the gap in a market split between “beautiful timepieces that lacked innovative technology [and] technology-oriented wearables with no real sense of style,” the company’s web site said.

The company said it will provide “desirable pieces of jewelry” that offer the right information at the right moment in the right way.”

The Vector watch will deliver “the highest quality of craftsmanship” with “impeccable design and exceptional materials with cutting-edge software and a unique user experience,” the site continued. The watch will provide “discreet and relevant information to help streamline the complexities of day-to-day life whilst retaining the aesthetic and elegance of a premium timepiece.”

They can be worn in the shower.

The designer is British product designer Steve Jarvis, who worked with Santana at Timex to design the Sport (Ironman) and Expedition lines. He was also design director of Nike Vision eyewear and senior designer for the Nike Sportwatch and FuelBand fitness tracker.
