Tokyo - Sharp is releasing a new Zaurus PDA in Japan on Sept. 7 with a US version slated for November shipping, said a spokeswoman.

According to the Nikkei in Tokyo, the Japanese-version of the PDA, called the MI-E21, allows users to playback video at approximately 10 frames per second. The MI-E21 is also able to record video directly from a TV or VCR via a card option. It also has MP3 capability and can double as a mobile phone with an optional accessory. Other features include a slide-type keyboard and 32 MB of memory. It is selling for about 60,000 yen in Japan and Sharp is planning to produce 25,000 units.
