St. Paul, Minn. - Sanus has begun shipping its Foundations CFR144, an A/V rack designed for the custom-installation channel.

The CFR144 includes five 1U (1.75-inch) shelves and eight 2U (3.5-inch) blanking panels that hold up components to 1,000 pounds.

It stands 85 inches tall and is 23.6 inches wide and deep, for a total rack space of 44U.

It also features a three-section back panel with wire-management openings and removable panels for maximum wire capacity; a removable side that allows total access to components and wiring; a lockable tempered-glass door with quarter-turn handle; swivel casters and adjustable feet; and a convection cooling system that allows heated air to escape through the top as cooler air is drawn in through bottom, keeping A/V gear at the proper temperature.

The CFR144 comes pre-assembled and is now available for a retail of $1,499.
