Seuol, Korea - Samsung announced today it will use Microsoft's Windows 7 platform for its future smartphone products.

The two companies inked long-term agreement. The first smartphones rolled out under the new deal will hit U.S., European and Asian stores this year, Samsung said.

Samsung may expand use of Windows 7 to other product areas outside the smartphone category.
