Torrance, Calif. — Saitek Industries announced the shipping of the Eclipse II, a computer keyboard with backlighting that shines through laser-etched keys.

A variety of colors are available, including purple, red and blue, which are selectable by the user and adjustable via a dimmer mechanism; the key characters and keypad illuminate. Retailing for a suggested $69, it features a silver casing, weighted base and large area rubber feet to keep the keyboard firmly planted on the desk, along with media keys for volume control, play/pause and skip tracks. The keyboard will be available in August, according to Saitek.
