Tempe, Ariz. - Rockford Fosgate is shipping its first powered car subwoofer.

The "Overload" is a 300-watt RMS unit with a 12-inch subwoofer that offers more output than most powered car subwoofers, said David Slepak, Rockford's new senior marketing manager who was formerly in Rockford's OEM division. He claimed most powered subwoofers deliver 100 watts RMS or 300 watts max.

The Overload has an injection-molded ABS composite rigid box and high- and low-level inputs at a suggested retail of $799.

A remote PEQ level control is also offered as an option.
