PriceGrabber Acquired By Connexity

Los Angeles — PriceGrabber, the comparison shopping platform, has been acquired by Connexity for an undisclosed price.

Connexity, formerly Shopzilla, also operates the Bizrate and Retrevo shopping sites among others, and provides syndicated product placement and search marketing services.

“We are pleased to combine forces with one of the most respected lead-generation companies in retail,” said Connexity CEO Bill Glass. “Our two companies are industry pioneers and putting these exceptional teams together is going to create a powerful retail marketing platform for the future.”

For retailers, the move will provide “seamless access to multiple selling platforms,” Glass said, while consumers will benefit from the greater breadth and depth of content within the company’s comparison shopping sites and syndication network.

The latter will allow publishers to get their product content and monetization from a single API or feed, simplifying tracking and reporting and creating greater channel efficiency, he said.
