XYZ Printing Joins Barnes & Noble’s Maker Faire

Leading 3D-printer vendor XYZprinting is joining 17 other brands this weekend to co-host Barnes & Noble’s debut Mini Maker Faire event.

The educational expo features three days of hands-on workshops, demos and panels addressing drones, robots, coding, 3D printing, programming and other DIY tech innovations.

Events are being held in every Barnes & Noble bookstore nationwide Nov. 6-8 in a celebration of the 125-million-strong Maker Movement, including chats by innovators like XYZ CEO Simon Shen, who will participate in an interactive panel discussion at the retailer’s Manhattan store at Union Square on Sunday.

Other participating brands include Ozobot, Sphero, Shap Circuits, CircuitScribe, LightUp, Lego and Lomography.

Separately, XYZ is launching its own educational initiative with the start of the XYZ Steam program, an online exchange platform that will provide educational curriculums; discounted 3D printers for classrooms, educators and instructors; as well as “tools to engage students in practical, real-life applications of 3D printing,” the company said.

A beta version of the platform is up and running here.
