Walmart Launches ‘Early Bird’ Pre-Holiday Sale

With Halloween now but a candy corn hangover, Walmart is wasting no time moving on to the real holiday business at hand.

In lockstep with Amazon’s returning Black Friday Deals Store, the world’s largest discount chain has mounted a selection of “Early Bird Online Specials,” a hodge-podge of pre-holiday deals broken out into 15 sections including electronics, home, toys, video games, photo and “pick up today.”

Within electronics, which is further sorted by product category, Vizio’s 43-inch D-Series 1080p LED TV serves as the lead item with a $20 discount, to $228, and free shipping.

Other featured CE items include RCA’s 11.5-inch, 32GB Galileo Pro Android Marshmallow tablet with keyboard for $98, a savings of $82; and a 15-inch Lenovo Ideapad 100 Windows 10 laptop with Intel Pentium N3540 processor, 4GB of RAM and a 500GB hard drive for $229, down from $399.

Elsewhere in pre-holiday cyberspace, Groupon (No. 33 on TWICE’s Top 100 CE Retailers ranking, with $364 million in tech sales last year) has added a “12 Days Of Doorbusters” promotion promising daily-deal discounts of up to 80 percent, and savings on top brands like Vizio and Canon. Today’s offering includes refurbished Xbox One consoles and Samsung Galaxy smartphones as well as factory-fresh Fitbit fitness bands, unlocked Apple iPhone 7’s and Dell Inspiron laptops.

And speaking of Dell, the PC maker has posted a 24-hour “Black Friday Flash Sale” on select laptops, desktops and all-in-one PCs, while BFads.net has leaked the company’s eight-page, 37-item Black Friday circular. Online deals reportedly include a 43-inch 4K Ultra HD TV from LG for $300 plus a $30 gift card, and Dell’s own 11.6-inch Inspiron two-in-one laptop for $100. Sale hours run from 6 p.m. through midnight on Thanksgiving and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Black Friday, BFads’ leak shows.
