This Thanksgiving, Cowgirls Set The Rules At Cowboy Maloney’s

The leadership team at Mississippi’s Cowboy Maloney’s Electric City knows which side its bread is buttered.

The Brothers Maloney — CEO Con, president Eddie, and executive VP Johnny — have acquiesced to their wives’ wishes and are closing each of their 13 stores on Thanksgiving, thus joining a growing turkey day backlash.

As Con’s wife Betty insists in a current TV ad, “Thanksgiving Day is for families to spend time together.”

But the TWICE award-winning chain will reopen Black Friday morning at 7:30 with a slew of specials, including a $99 rocker recliner; a 55-inch 1080p LED-TV for $249; and a stainless-steel French door refrigerator for $699, the spouses said in the spot.

As a family-focused business, the company also holds a Christmas party for its 500 associates and their families, Johnny said — except this year’s was held last month, at the Mississippi State Fair, to avoid the December crunch.
