Los Angeles — LG Electronics will give its 65- and 55-inch 4K Ultra High-Definition LED LCD TVs a formal send-off at the Santa Monica outlet of Video & Audio Center Thursday.
The Southern California-based consumer electronics retailer, which has become a national launch platform for a wide range of CE products in recent years, will host a media launch event for the sets in its home-theater showroom.
The event will mark the worldwide retail introduction for the LG’s smaller-screen Ultra HD sets — which carry suggested retail prices of $6,000 and $8,000, respectively — joining the company’s previously introduced 84-inch Ultra HD LED LCD TV model that shipped late last year.
Both sets are part of LG’s LA9700 4K Ultra HD model series (boasting 3,840 by 2,160 resolution). LG will demonstrate the 4K TVs, and will also discuss current HDTV market trends and the future of smart TVs.
