Ridgeland, Miss. — Cowboy Maloney’s Electric City has formally opened Cowboy’s Kitchens, a new-format showroom that presents premium kitchen appliances to the builder and remodeler trades.
The showroom is located here in a former Viking Cooking School that the Mississippi majap, CE and home-furnishings chain acquired last year.
Cowboy’s Kitchens carries such brands as Bosch/Thermador, GE/Monogram, Jenn-Air/KitchenAid/Whirlpool, Sub-Zero/Wolf and Viking, and also conducts live cooking demonstrations and related events.
“With the home-building business and the remodeling business turning around, it only made sense to open Cowboy’s Kitchens with one of the best selections and the guaranteed lowest prices,” chairman Con Maloney said in a statement.
The 12-store chain, run by brothers Con, Eddie and Johnny Maloney, also hearkens back to their parents, founder James “Cowboy” Maloney and his wife Dolly, who supplied the builder and remodeler channels with the launch of company forerunner Cowboy Maloney’s Supply in 1952.
The dealer went on to attain industry acclaim by selling the first DirecTV home satellite system in the world and the first Sirius car audio system in the country, and continues to serve as the launch pad for groundbreaking technologies including Dish’s high-speed satellite Internet service, DishNet.
