New York – Many retailers were open on Thanksgiving Day, so why not New Year’s?
According to a retail rundown by International Business Times, a slew of national chains plan to open their doors tomorrow with modified hours and the first sales promotions of 2014.
For customers who choose to start their new year buying more stuff, their brick-and-mortar choices include Barnes & Noble, Best Buy, Kmart, Target and Walmart.
Best Buy, for one, is holding a New Year’s sales event that includes such “hot prices” as a free 16GB iPhone 5c with two-year contract and up to 50-percent off on clearance and open-box items.
Of course the Internet is always open and Amazon.com is kicking off 2014 with a “New Year, New Tech Gear” lightening deals promotion through Jan. 14. And for those who want to take advantage of today’s year-end sale, which includes up to 60-percent off CE, the e-tailer will donate an extra $5 to a charity of your choice when ordering through its smile.Amazon.com platform.
