Amazon Prime Members Claim New Perk For Pre- And Post-Black Friday

Amazon pulled its Black Friday curtain back just a bit on Monday, revealing a new perk for Prime members.

Prime members will now be able to access Amazon’s Lightning Deals 30 minutes early the e-tailer said, noting that more than 30,000 items will be offered in the flash sales between now and Dec. 22.

(One can only hope its holiday deals will step it up over its much-maligned Prime Day deals in July.)

CE Lightning Deals this season will variously include:

*Sony’s XBR55X900C 55-inch 4K Ultra HD TV (30 percent off), bundled with a Blu-ray player;

*Sony’s Alpha a6000 mirrorless digital camera with 16-50mm power zoom lens ($170 off);

*Jaybird’s X Sport Bluetooth headphones ($170 off); and

*Optima’s HD37 3D 1080p 2,600-lumen DLP home cinema projector (under $800).

Amazon has also curated and highlighted over 600 of the year’s “hottest” tech products in its annual Electronics Holiday Gift Guide, which is organized by category and recipient, and includes new features like 3D product imagery and unboxing videos.

In related Prime news, the e-tailer said it will provide special midnight and late-night deliveries of Activision’s new “Call of Duty: Black Ops III” when it is released this Friday. Reservations must be made through Amazon’s Prime Now service app, which provides free two-hour deliveries and $7.99 one-hour deliveries to Prime members in 20 metro markets.
