Escort’s Redline EX Radar Detector Builds In Bluetooth & GPS

Escort further expanded its line of radar detectors at the KnowledgeFest trade show this past weekend with the unveiling of a model with built-in Bluetooth and GPS.

The Redline EX detector features the company’s TotalShield technology, designed to receive real-time alerts and filtering but remain invisible to radar-detector detectors. Other features include a twin-antenna design, multi-color OLED display, English and Spanish voice and text, detection range on all radar bands, maximum laser range and off-axis coverage.

The AutoLearn design uses GPS to learn and automatically reject fixed-position false alerts, said Escort, and the IVT filter reduces noise from such in-vehicle tech sources as collision-avoidance systems. The GPS also enables it to adjust sensitivity to the vehicle’s speed to provide alerts based on the driving situation, according to the company.

It will ship in September with a $599 suggested retail.

The KnowledgeFest show for the mobile electronics industry is being held in Dallas through today.
