The two-way 8-ohm C-600, priced at $130/pair, is Proficient's lowest priced in-ceiling speaker to date. It's designed for for dealers who "have been telling us that it's difficult for them to sell a budget speaker that doesn't have good sound quality," said president Keith Marshall. To create such a speaker, Proficient used polypropylene cone material, which is stiff yet light and delivers good bass with low distortion, Marshall said. The C600's 0.5-inch fixed-position polyethylene dome tweeter is light, fast and features wide dispersion, he added.
