Long Beach, Calif. - Pioneer
Electronics introduced a pair of noise-canceling ear buds today.
The SE-NC31C-K ear buds
are designed to cancel up to 90 percent of outside noise. They feature microphones
located in each ear piece to measure unwanted low-frequency noise, Pioneer
said, and the components then insert an equal amplitude, opposite phase signal
of the unwanted noise to cancel it before it reaches the listener's ears.
They have 14.2mm drivers and can reportedly
operate for up to 120 hours using one AAA battery. Four different sizes of ear
tips are included, as is an in-flight plug adapter and a carrying pouch.
The ear buds are
currently available for a $99 suggested retail.
